Dj Jhun Himeno Biography: Jhun Himeno started spinning at the age of 15 in Manila where he spent almost half of
his life. He soon then began to discover his great passion for Dee-jaying and decided to explore more of it. He began his
journey when he started playing at Subway -one of the most famous and high-end clubs in the Philippines.
Thereafter, he was soon recognized and believed to be one of the best Dj's in Manila. As he continues to succeed as a DJ,
he then started coming up with special events that featured different kinds of club music-- from New Wave,80's Disco, RnB,
House and currently Trance, Electro house & Tribal house. Due to the hasty speed of his career, Jhun decided to expand his
calling and began to travel all over Asia. He started his gig tours in Beijing and Guangzhou as well as Taipei.
Finally, he thought of moving back to Tokyo. Although it was his homeland,
He had to start from scratch and worked hard for his credibility.
He started as a resident DJ for Club Quest where he met Roger Jordan
(One of the most recognized Djs in the Tokyo club scene),Bar Hideout and
Wall Street Roppongi. Thereafter, he started having major breaks at Areju
and Club M Roppongi where he bumped into his mentor John Robinson.
(Tokyo's King of After Hours) and at the same time came up with a monthly
event named “VIRUS”. The event immediately became big and now features
renowned Djs all over the world.
Just recently, Jhun played at Velfarre for the event called TRANSIT with
DJ ROGER JORDAN. This was soon followed by another remarkable performance with PETER HOOK from the well-known group called
NEW ORDER. He just also finished his successful China Tour with DJ JOHN ROBINSON wherein they both invaded Beijing,Guangzhou,Shanghai,Tienjin
and Wuhan through their passion for music and innovative performances.
I guess being a Fil-Japanese gave me the edge I definitely needed in order to
gain the trust and confidence of the people most especially the club goers here
in Tokyo. He strongly believes that his experience in Manila and familiarity
with the industry paved way for his growing career in Tokyo.
Currently, he plays weekly--after hours at Club Maxim, Club Boomerang Roppongi, Club Fusion Shinjuku for the event called
“VIRUS”.
